Sagittarius the Hero
True Sagittarius: Dec 18-Jan 18
Sagittarians are the ones who make it with sheer guts and sacrifice, become our heroes and inspire us to be like them. Or is it all a facade? This is the question for Sagittarius, and those of us who know them, to ponder on how a rutting beast and a benign philosopher can inhabit the same body? If you are a fan of the Fire Signs you may find Sagittarius' self-negation as the most explosive. Sagittarius' natural polarity is what separates the human from the animal. The human side is well documented. The brilliance of the Sagittarian mind, when it has consumed an idea, can light up humanity's most utopian visions. The human side of Sagittarius is our teacher, leader, revolutionary hero, whatever--always the Greatest. The Sagittarius knows no limits when it comes to fulfilling their destiny to change the world. And yet, Sagittarius seems unsatisfied, and this is where the beast is released.
We shouldn't compare our pets or domesticated food sources as "animals" in the ancient tradition of the Beast. Real animals have no veneer of civilization. They can only destroy it.
Sagittarius doesn't have an "evil" twin, a concept that is open to debate for them, they have a wild-animal, replete with a prehistoric appetite for plunder and rape.
That bottom half of Sagittarius--the Centaur, is the most dangerous and untamed nature of the beast. These mythical beasts were today's equivalent of two-legged psychopaths.
The Centaurs nurtured no human feelings, and acted only on their desires for power and sex. Unencumbered by altruism, love, shame or kindness, the Centaurs only wanted to consume or destroy everything around them, in the same way any animal without a natural enemy will destroy its own habitat.
Probably all Sagittarians, at the start, want to follow the career route of Chiron, a reject Centaur who became a healer, savior and one of the gods due to his wisdom and sacrifice. Sagittarians want the kind of love that heroes get, by any means necessary.
A lot of famous and driven people turn out to be this sign. They can never stop because they are never satisfied with themselves. Sagittarius is the animal in its most elevated form: the human. They won't be fulfilled until they are given the respect they crave. And that has to come from the rest of the world. They have to get us to believe them, their raw intelligence and heartfelt devotion. If we can believe, they can believe.
The runner, the jumper, the true believer—hot tempered Sagittarians are aiming at us, to teach, woo, inspire, challenge, to triumph over our ignorance--whatever it takes to get their voice heard. Sooner or later, they are bound to injure our feelings. Don't blame the Sagittarius; they're just doing their duty to the higher calling, and they will try anything to be relevant. The struggle for a Sagittarius is never over, they are tireless workers and fighters for their version of the truth—even if it hurts, and even if it isn't true.
The Sexy Sagittarius
"I always liked those moments of epiphany, when you have the next destination."
–Brad Pitt, sidereal Sagittarius, born Dec 18, 1963. Incidentally, Angelina Jolie, his partner, is a sexy sidereal Taurus female, whose down-to-Earth sexiness and home-body aesthetic make this a good love match.
Planetary focus
Sagittarius are Jupiter’s PR people, and they’re on a mission to enrich and expand our universe. They think big. Born leaders, the Sagittarius is our hero. Sagittarius is an admitted hero-worshiper too; they need to look up to and to aspire to greatness. Inspiration and optimism are the name of the game, what Sagittarius lives for, and for which it will gladly die. The life of a Sagittarius is the proliferation of his beliefs, a beacon of hope. The grave danger is that fear of failure can drive them into despotism.
The Sagittarius Tyrant
“Education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.”
—Josef Stalin, sidereal Sagittarius, Dec. 21, 1879. Stalin murdered and tortured millions of his own citizens, singlehandedly crushing everything the original Russian Bolshevik revolution had accomplished, using the vernacular of the revolution. He "waved the red flag to destroy it."
Metabolism problems
Sagittarians are fiery people, they are burning up in a furious rate, whether like a hot coal, or a white-blue flame. They bodies need carbohydrates. If their bodies burn protein, it will burn imperfectly, leaving behind acidic residues that will come out through the sweat glands, burning the skin. Pernicious bacteria will then enter and cause infections and acne. Sagittarius, while no means the only sign, suffers from heart problems partly because of how hard they drive themselves, and partly from a diet that is high in purines, and produces excess uric acid.
Sagittarius will meet a early death, or suffer infirmities if they persist in a diet they select with the taste-buds of a child. With a good, high-roughage diet, your fats can be ignited into hot-blooded energy. The adult Sagittarius will have to face this core issue of necessary nutrition. It won't go away!
The Sagittarius Stallion
“I don't know how tall I am or how much I weigh. Because I don't want anybody to know my identity. I'm like a superhero. Call me Basketball Man.”
—LeBron James, sidereal Sagittarius, born Dec. 30, 1984, is popularly known as King James, and is the youngest player to set so many records in the NBA. His mother has said of him: “He doesn’t want it for the money or for the fame like everybody thinks. He wants to play [in the NBA] because that’s his dream.”
Hardest-Working Parts
The thighs; the Gluteus Maximus, the largest muscles in the body; your two galloping horses. Your sign is born to run, play! If you’ve ever ridden a horse, you know! Hypoglycemia is the ruin of a good pair of legs. Sagittarians have to make sure that their glucose levels are stable, and their sources of carbohydrates are clean burning and long lasting. Sagittarius males and females are subject to water retention.
Sagittarius Factoid: They can be painfully BLUNT in conversation.
The Soulful Sagittarius
“You can hate me. You can go out there and say anything you want about me, But you will love me later because I told you the truth.”
—Mary J. Blige, sidereal Sagittarius, born Jan. 11, 1971. The only female singer with real hiphop cred, Blige has extended her soulful appeal to all genres. She is a recipient of nine Grammy Awards and four American Music Awards, and has recorded eight multi-platinum albums. She is the only artist with Grammy Award wins in R&B, Rap, Gospel, and Pop.
Problem Zones
All pain is muscle pain. Sagittarians are like one big muscle. Muscle injury can take the wind out of a Sagittarius, even make them forsake their characteristic indomitable courage. Muscles need care and feeding like other organs. Muscle pain means that a muscle can’t do its work; you cannot rush the healing of your muscles. If time is your number one medicine to heal muscle injury, then, Vitamin E is your number two. (more info about this below)
Inherent Strengths
Boundless energy, quick recovery. You are an inspiration. Sagittarius is an intoxicating mix of the sexual power of the beast and the worldly vision of the philosopher. No one can corral you except for yourself. Your life is one long search for personal and societal independence. Freedom or death!
The Myth of Chiron
A tiny, bright comet whizzes through space like a fractal freak of nature. Breaking away from the deep space cordon of the centaur asteroid belt, this icy rock spins on its wild path alone, not yet captured by any planet. Discovered in 1977 By Charles Kowal, it was named Chiron, after the centaur in Greek Mythology. MORE
Watch Out!
Beware the hidden enemies: foods high in purines, fats and sugars. Your swollen kidneys, rough skin; water retention, body odor are all signs of too much fatty meats, starchy pasta, unhealthy white flour, pernicious sugar and dairy, all of which rotten remains resonate through your every pore.
Power Foods
Like many astrological animal-archetypes, your brain wants meat, but your stomach needs whole grains, All whole grains with the exception of oatmeal are good for the stomach. The Sagittarius needs the same greens that the horse would graze on, such as collard, kale, mustard, or turnip greens. Real greens contain the vitamin A and calcium you need for clear skin and a pleasing personality. To help digestion, Sag should make full use of fermented foods like miso, umeboshi salt plums, Kim chi, pickled daikon, or kombucha. Sagittarius ideas may from the future, but the diet ought to be from the past.
By the way, Popeye was barking up the wrong tree: spinach is too high in purines and will cause a build up of uric acid in the blood, so you should avoid it and other high-purine food. This category of rich foods really includes everything Sagittarius loves, sweets, fats and includes beer and wine, and other alcoholic beverages.
Healing systems
Full of bluster and confidence, Sagittarians are blindsided by their own health issues. They can’t heal themselves. A helter-skelter diet comes back to haunt Sagittarius. This can range from craving fatty foods (which cause bad complexion) or just over-eating in general. The Sagittarius is likely to lick his plate clean. One general solution to Sagittarian emotional problems, the symptoms of which (depression) can sometimes be avoided by running or horse back riding.
The Sagittarian Sparrow
"I want to make people cry even when they don't understand my words."
—Edith Piaf, beloved French songstress, born Dec. 19, 1915, may have personified her country's dichotomy, between the sublime and the degraded. She defiantly lived her life as if "death does not exist"—another quote of hers. The title of her signature song is Je Ne Regrette Rien (I regret nothing).
Purging and cleansing.
Vitamin and mineral supplements are ideal for Sagittarians, who always overtax themselves and need the extra nutrients and enzymes. A daily Megadose of 3 to 12 grams of Ascorbate (vitamin C) will liberate you from colds and flu. Cure your hot temper with Calcium/magnesium supplements. For bad sinuses: take 100,000 I.U. of vitamin A and 400 I.U. of D until the mucus pours out of you. For ALL muscle problems, or just to pump up your libido, take as much 100% natural Vitamin E as you can afford.
Warning:
Avoid acetates and synthetic Vitamin E; look for “d-alpha-tocopheral” only! Unfortunately, the vitamin industry uses mostly cheap substitutes. (Recommended Vitamins)
Mind/body connection
Don’t believe the hype, especially your own! Hot fire needs fuel and oxygen. For Sagittarius this is a diet of whole grains and a supplement of anti-oxidants, such as Vitamin A, D and E. This is the material side of health. The mental side is to have Sagittarius replenish their strength. Getting physically run down can lead to depression, paranoia, alienation. Sagittarius can keep going even when they are physically in a wreck, with only half their faculties working, burning the candle at both ends. It may be that when Sagittarius admits to disease, they admit to defeat, and all hope is lost. However, facing reality can be a great experience of clarity for Sag. Your fears of losing hero status may come true, but remember: Time heals all wounds.
