Make America Great Again!
A Gut-wrenching T-Square
Starting Feb 19, and continuing until Feb 28, we'll all be experiencing a tumultuous and dangerous T-square with Jupiter (retrograde), Uranus and Pluto. Around Feb 28, Mars will be added to the mix, as conjunct Uranus, which will hit us even harder, making the changes we face come at us like a roaring beast. We didn't notice the warning signs of this gradual but inevitable predicament.
The impact of this combination of planets can mean a lot of disruption, duplicity, loss, coercion, and failure of the institutions that we depend on, such as corporations and joint finances, taxes, insurance, inheritance and the goods of the dead. One way of looking at it is that we have overvalued the dependability of these institutions, and are now trapped in a sudden realization of the weakness or perfidy of government, religious or spiritually-based groups, social and family organizations and even friendships. Even astrology and other "occult" belief systems will fall into disrepute, since any means of self-aggrandization or over confidence is very dangerous in this T-square.
Jupiter, our protector, is not only going back to nitpick the details of our belief systems, but is also tangled in a web of deceit and power-plays. Jupiter's otherwise lucky aspects are doomed to be dragged into a pit of arrogance and neglect of important details, which could result in pain and violence. Jupiter can't always save us, especially from ourselves.
All of these failures of our most trusted institutions will come at us in a rage of sudden disappointments. We'll be beset by the irrevocable destruction of the old conditions we are used to. We may be exposed to dangerous and or perilous circumstances, disruption of our normal living conditions, whether by economic, political, cultural and ecological forces beyond our control. Entrenched corporate or other power structures will bear down on us with a ferocity that we didn't expect. This will cause us to vault into a desire to drastically change our basic goals and objectives. However, this is not a good time for positive change. we simply aren't ready or prepared; we haven't laid any groundwork for meaningful reform, and we will be forced to endure and submit to the changes, or, hopefully adjust to them for the short term. Like a wounded animal, we'll suffer drastic emotional upsets caused by the threats to our basic needs; security, money, sex, and our quality of life, unable to find a way out. Shock and despair are natural reactions to the collapse of everything we hold dear.
Like most T-squares, the danger is what we will do to ourselves. Pluto is like the dagger we plunge unto our own gut, in a fit of fury that we will turn inwards. Why wait until the forces against us hit? In our anguish, we might ruin our chances to reorganize and place ourselves in untenable positions from which there is no escape.
When we face oppressive forces out to destroy us, we must downsize, and shrink our area of activities to only what we need. There is only one way out: strict and consistent HONESTY in all our affairs. Rather than be fooled into action before we are ready, we must find the truth of our predicament, face our own follies and fantasies, and scrupulously eliminate all hypocrisy from our lives. Yes, we are challenged to change, real change, which can only come as a result of a great realization of our options, and starkly looking at the sacrifices we must make. Only a radical departure from the old ways of thinking can save us. Yet we are helpless to act on our newly forming consciousness. We must wait for the storm to pass over, before we can repair the damage to ourselves and take action against our real enemies, who have finally been revealed to us.
On February 6, Jupiter in Virgo goes retrograde. This will signal a sudden reverse in the false spirit of optimism in the US economy. This delusion is based on a Trump victory and a tax cut for the rich, a rising stock market and the further inflation of worthless paper assets and bad debts. China, the last best hope of the capitalist wet dream, is sinking further in chaos, with crashing exports, massive unemployment, devastating pollution, and pervasive corruption. This is causing a deep sense of doom in the Chinese people as a whole. They've hit a major block to their dreams of expansion and the glories of capitalism. The Yuan is sinking so fast that all the gold in China can't prop it up any more. The Chinese are racing to try to convert their money into other currencies, and bitcoin. Japan, India, Brazil, England and most European and South American counties are all suffering similar currency implosion. Anyone with dollar-based debt is like a cornered rat. There really isn't anywhere to hide, and the specter of deflation is haunting all countries that have allowed a deregulated capitalism to sweep through their economies like a forest fire. The reality of deflation will now reveal itself to be the major economic trend of our era. It's like quicksand, and it swallows wealth wherever it finds it. The more you own, the more debt you are carrying, the more acute the danger.
This is a major shift in economics, but also in our perception, and way of life. Deflation throws us into the opposite extreme of what we are used to, inflation.
Since World War two, Americans have been living in the capitalist dream state of inflation. Our wealth, goods and power was increased and been exaggerated, and then leveraged for more than it was worth, as we artificially jacked up the market value of increasingly overvalued assets, goods and services. Today, a one-bedroom condo in Brooklyn can cost millions of dollars; a Modigliani painting can sell for $250 million; a taxi company can be valued at $60 billion; the list goes on. This causes a trickle down effect, not of wealth, but of more delusion. Americans accept the roller coaster ride and scramble for more money, more liquidity, more credit. But money is scarce, spendable income is down, growth is negative, monopoly has run its course. The halcyon days of capitalism are gone in the flames of wretched excess, waste and retribution.
Inflation has worked (for us) for 75 years, as long as you consumed everything you could, the government printed more money, war burned up surplus capital, and in the end, we impoverished the rest of the world. The true cost of capitalism was deferred; as long as the rich could inflate the value of everything they owned, everything was OK. We were betting that inflation would last forever.
That is no longer possible. The corporations have reached the end of their tether. No regime or government in history has ever survived defeat in war and deflation of the currency. The capitalists have turned over-production, abundance and concentration of capital into a nightmare for all humanity, and a threat to our very existence. Once deflation (which is the underestimation of previously overestimated wealth) kicks in, profits are impossible, growth reverses itself into decay. The capitalist juggernaut shifts gear into self-destruction. This is the final stage of capitalism, moribund. The dying stage.
The last Great Depression of 1929-39 was solved with the government borrowing from the millionaires who were responsible for poverty, war, taxation, and the creation of a military-industrial-financial complex. It was a temporary fix, driving the government into an even more precarious and subordinate position as the tool of world capitalism and the global corporations.
But the worm turns. In 1987 Americans experienced a shock to its economic underpinnings. The savings and loan banks, at the heart of our wealth creation, collapsed in corruption and bad loans. The government took another giant step into the cycle of crushing and unpayable debt, without addressing the root causes. The commercial banks just swallowed up the problem, making huge profits. However, their waterloo came with the crash of 2008. This bank debacle was smoothed over with a burst of $1.8 trillion "fictitious" money from the Fed. The cost was financed by Japan, China and the "developing" nations. Again, the problem was ignored and the capitalists turned it into another way to gouge new profits out of a dying cash cow.
What enabled the capitalists to get away with it was the American military juggernaut, the hollow specter of American imperialism, the shower of blood, bombs and bullets we spread over everything we touched. Bush and Obama's war-mongering staved off a day of reckoning with $15 trillion of military expenditures. However, now the US military has reached the Rubicon. They face a growing resistance, and Russia has become a major obstacle to their aims of world domination. Now the US military faces imminent and certain defeat in their many wars of aggression, as well as their proxy wars.
The US military, now out of political control, is starting new wars in Yemen, Somalia, and in the former Soviet states like Ukraine, Lithuania and Georgia. NATO is trying to extend its imperialistic grasp into Poland. But all these ventures will fail. The era of American exceptionalism (their word for imperialism) is over. Now it's just a question of when.
Between the humiliation and economic catastrophe of losing the wars that several US administrations have nurtured for so long, members of the American military are committing suicide in record numbers, and demoralized beyond the point of no return. We have reached the furthest crest of American power. Unless the capitalists decide to destroy the world in a nuclear holocaust, the backlash against US imperialism will drive it back into a death spiral.
War+inflation has been GREAT for capitalism, a win-win for capitalists. However, the new dispensation of war+deflation cannot sustain itself. When this occurs, capitalists become cannibals and turn upon each other like savage dogs. It's only a matter of time. Jupiter will stay in retrograde until June 6, dragging us back to face the toxins we have ingested and deal with the never ending chaotic crisis of our era. We won't be out of the shadow until September 6. Stay tuned.
What is the problem with real estate? With oil? With consumer sales? With stocks and bonds, with the dollar? It's the downside of abundance: supply is greater than demand, and deflation is the result. This is the worst scenario of all for capitalism, the end of growth. When deflation happens, ownership becomes onerous. The business owner, equity owner, homeowner, or any owner gets undercut. Ownership is a weeping wound, Ownership is like being caught with the hot potato. MORE ON DEFLATION

The mythology of Lilith is simple, yet through the ages it has been twisted.
Lilith is described in legend as the original woman, before Eve she was first and was conceived by the creator to exist in love and equality with the original man. This partnership was not comfortable for her male counterpart, he demanded subservience from her and rather than lessen herself she departed, expressing the pain of her rejection as fury. Her self respect was intact but according to legend her heartbreak at the injustice of this has burned throughout the ages. MORE

Like the bulk of mainstream economists, Yellen is telling us that a slight twist of the interest knob can stop the oncoming crisis. All she wants is one more day. It's not her fault that the house of cards comes crashing down. MORE

Like a creeping disease, deflation is the specter of destruction haunting the capitalist system. It's contagious; it's jumping from one nation to another like an STD. Oil producing nations have it. It's working its way through Europe like a new black plague; Japan has had it for 10 years, and now China has it. And now, finally, deflation--the dull gray bubble in the illustration above--has come to edge us ever closer to a future of wanting what we can't have and paying for what we don't want. MORE

Saturn in Ophiuchus
Shock and Awe
Saturn represents the power structure. Saturn's meaning for us is grounded in our human society. Eons ago, but within human consciousness, Saturn was much closer to Earth and was considered a benevolent star, like the Sun. Saturn provided the security for an Earth teeming with life, and the blooming of the evolutionary tree. Many ancient cultures left drawings of another object in their sky, as big as the Sun. The temperance of Saturn was like a security blanket of regular cycles and is now associated with the cornucopia. Early humans had it good, and lived in harmony with nature.
Suddenly, Saturn exploded in the sky, and was spun out of control to its present position on the far reaches of the Sun's solar rays. The rubble thrown up by the release of energy now gives Saturn its rings and many moons. MORE
